For all of those parents out there, constantly tormented by their aspiring rock n roll star teenagers ‘jamming’ in the garage or their bedrooms...I come with good news....sometimes it just pay off!
The members of pop sensation Friendly Fires first met at school in St.Albans and after stints at various universities, came together to write what they describe as ‘lush shoegaze melodies’
Their first track was single of the week in the Guardian, NME magazine and on Zane Lowe’s BBC1 radio show and ever since then the band have continued to go from strength to strength.
Richard Martin Lighting (RML) provided disco kit for their latest UK tour, resurrecting the equipment that was designed and made by us all those years ago. Original disco kit for an original disco sound!
Lighting Designer Mark Watson used them to help compliment the colourful, fun and fresh sound of the band.
With songs such as ‘Jump in the Pool’, ‘Kiss of Life’ and ‘Hawaiian Air’ the show was a spectacle from start to finish. Full of strong looks and bold themes throughout, helped massively by the video content.
Unfortunately some of the dates had to be postponed due to illness in the band, but for those of you who have had to wait longer than anticipated it will be well worth it. Definitely a show to remind you of how great our industry is and a fantastic evening for those of you who want to just go and have a top night out. Watch out for the dancing hoola girls....not that you could miss them!!
