All hale to the ale! Minimize

After his huge success at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, it was only a matter of time before Britain’s most famous pub landlord, Al Murray (real name Alastair James Hay), was given his own quiz show – and now that time is here – Compete for the Meat is coming to the comedy channel Dave!

The ‘game show like no others’ designed by established LD Chris Kempton and supported by Richard Martin Lighting (RML) comprises of numerous raucous rounds! A frozen chicken is the prize for the winning team, economy sausages for the runners up...and the rest of them....well they get nothing but shame!

Chris’s huge lighting specification includes Pixel Par 90, GLP Impressions, Stage Bar 54, Mac 700, Mac 600, VL1000TS, Alpha Beam 700, Alpha Was 1200, Alpha Wash 700 and VL3000 Spots.

The Alpha Beam 700 is a special and unique luminaire, conceived as an automated ACL to create parallel light beams, visible even in the brightest scenes. Its small, lightweight, quick-moving body contains the most advanced technology for generating a bright beam that can be coloured and shaped at pleasure, for amazing dynamic mid-air.

The Alpha Wash 700 is a compact lightweight 700w Washlight, with the luminous efficiency, graphic and optical performance of a higher category fixture. It is extremely silent and quick, and fitted with a complete CMY colour system, special colours, 9°-50° zoom, hybrid dimmer, beam shaping filters and motorized top-hat. It is an eco-friendly light, allowing considerable running and consumption cost savings.

The Martin Stagebar 54 is a compact, powerful LED luminaire with a comprehensive colour range. It functions as a pixel bar for displaying imagery and video or as a wash luminaire for floodlighting surfaces and stages.

Al’s love of all things British and Queen (the band not the actual Queen!) brings a nostalgic, naughty and not at all politically correct show which is packed full of banter, bad language, beer and a babe!

RML agree with Richard Allen-Turner from the programme makers Avalon Television when he said: “We have all the ingredients for a cracking entertainment series.”

The first episode will be aired on the 17th May 2011 at 10pm.....all hail to the ale!!
